“Captain America: Civil War” actors Daniel Bruhl and Emily Van Camp are said to be returning to the MCU for the upcoming six-part event series “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” for Disney+.
Bruhl played Zemo in ‘Civil War,’ the mastermind who drove a wedge between Captain America and Iron Man which factored into the Avengers films. Van Camp has been in several “Captain America” films now as SHIELD agent Sharon Carter, the great-niece of Peggy Carter.
Emmy-nominated, BAFTA-winning director Kari Skogland has been set to direct all six episodes of the project. The helmer has directed episodes of “The Handmaid’s Tale,” “The Borgias,” “Penny Dreadful,” “The Americans,” “The Killing,” “Vikings,” “House of Cards,” “The Walking Dead,” “The Punisher,” and was pilot block director for three upcoming series – “The Loudest Voice,” “NOS4A2” and “The Rook”.
Malcolm Spellman (“Empire”) has been writing the new series which will air in August 2020 and will be set after the events of “Avengers: Endgame”.
