Colin Farrell, comedian Steve Coogan, and “Stranger Things” alum Charlie Heaton have all joined the cast of Irish period revenge thriller “Bad Bridgets” at Netflix.

Also onboard are Domhnall Gleeson, Himesh Patel, Niamh Algar and Simone Kirby, all joining the previously cast Emilia Jones and Alison Oliver in the film.

The story begins when a mysterious letter offering escape leads a young Irish woman to 19th-century New York. She is pulled into the unruly world of the Bridgets, where mayhem follows in her wake.

Rich Peppiatt (“Kneecap”) pens, produces and directs the project with Margot Robbie’s LuckyChap banner producing.

The script was reportedly inspired by the history book “Bad Bridget: Crime, Mayhem, and the Lives of Irish Emigrant Women” by Elaine Farrell and Leanne McCormick.

That book explores how Irish women emigrants into the U.S. were often deemed troublemakers, and even outnumbered Irish men in prison at one point.

Filming will begin on location in Northern Ireland and Ireland in mid-July.
