Warner Bros. Pictures has premiered the trailer for the documentary/concert film “Bruce Springsteen: Western Stars”. Thom Zimmy helms the project and a release date hasn’t currently been set.
The album hit shelves in June and received critical acclaim for the Springsteen’s reinvention of his sound and character and the stories touching on themes of love, loss, loneliness, family and the unavoidable passage of time.
The documentary follows Springsteen performing all thirteen songs from the album backed by a band and full orchestra under the cathedral ceiling of his nearly 100-year-old barn.
Also today is the first trailer for “Shoplifters” director Hirokazu Kore-eda’s new feature “The Truth” which will have its world premiere as the opening night film of the upcoming Venice Film Festival along with being the helmer’s first English-language feature.
Juliette Binoche, Ethan Hawke, Ludivine Sagnier and Catherine Deneuve star in the film which chronicles a stormy reunion between a daughter (Binoche) and her actress mother (Deneuve) against the backdrop of her latest role in a sci-fi picture as a mother who never grows old. Hawke plays Binoche’s husband.
