Shocker Returns In “Spider-Man: Brand New Day”?

Sony Pictures, Insomniac Games

A new report indicates that the villain Shocker (aka. Herman Schultz) will appear in next month’s “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” film.

DanielRPK broke the news, indicating the character is likely to be one of the many minor villains who’ll be making brief appearances in the film as characters Tom Holland’s Peter Parker deals with in a possible opening montage.

Others like Tombstone, Tarantuala and Boomerang have already been reported on before, while The Hand and Sadie Sink’s Jean Grey are expected to be the film’s main antagonists.

Bokeem Woodbine played Schultz in a minor role in “Spider-Man: Homecoming” but the character hasn’t been seen since. Should Woodbine return to the role, it wouldn’t be a shock as Michael Mando is reprising his brief ‘Homecoming’ role of Mac Gargan/Scorpion in the film.

In fact, Woodbine teased to The Direct last year that “I get a feeling it might not be the last time you see the Shocker”. However, at this time neither Woodbine’s involvement nor the role’s inclusion has been confirmed.

“Spider-Man: Brand New Day” is currently slated to open in cinemas on July 31st.
