Veteran film producer Roy Lee (“IT,” “Godzilla vs Kong,” “The LEGO Movie”) is reportedly working on a new “Silent Hill” feature film.
The discovery comes via a profile piece in The Wall Street Journal documenting Lee’s success as producer or executive producer of over 100 films, many based on licensed IPs. His work includes all three Zach Cregger films, including the new “Resident Evil”.
That film proved a major critical success, and the feature states that Lee has “movies and television shows based on video games in development or production”.
They specifically cite “the fantasy epic God of War, action franchise Battlefield, and Japanese horror classic Silent Hill.”
That’s slightly surprising as no new “Silent Hill” film has yet been announced. The franchise returned to cinemas back in January with the critically panned “Return to Silent Hill,” which Lee had no involvement with.
Other Lee projects not mentioned by name but have been reported on include “A Minecraft Movie Squared,” “BioShock,” “Dragon’s Lair,” “The Sims,” “Deus Ex,” “Just Cause,” “Thief,” “Outlast,” and he was linked to “Horizon Zero Dawn” back when it was a Netflix series.
