A whole swag of new TV promo trailers have arrived today starting with “Romper Stomper: The Series,” a TV follow-up to the early 1990s Melbourne-set neo-Nazi film which launched Russell Crowe into the acting spotlight. Jacqueline MacKenzie returns and is joined by the likes of David Wenham, Lachy Hulme, Dan Wylie and several newcomers. It premieres on Australian TV on New Year’s Day.
Next comes the trailer for the second and final season of the critically acclaimed Netflix original series “Frontier” starring Jason Momoa, Katie McGrath, Landon Liboriron and Jessica Matten. The new season will debut in full on November 24th.
Next up, HBO has released a trailer for the three-part thriller “Gunpowder” based on the real-life 17th century events that lead to Guy Fawkes Day. Kit Harington star as his real life ancestor Robert Catesby alongside Peter Mullan, Mark Gatiss, Liv Tyler, Edward Holcroft and Tom Cullen. The program will debut on Monday, December 18th.
WGN America has announced today that its recently acquired the thriller series “Shoot the Messenger” and is slated to premiere on Monday February 26th. They’ve also released the teaser trailer for the eight-part event series starring Elyse Levesque, Lyriq Bent, Lucas Bryant and Alex Kingston. The show explores the complex relationships between crime reporters and the police as a young reporter becomes drawn into an interconnected web of criminal and illicit sexual activity after witnessing an apparent gangland murder.
Finally, Showtime has released the trailer for Lena Waithe’s “The Chi,” an “Easy”-esque ensemble look at Chicago’s south side, dropping them into the lives of neighborhood residents, ranging from kids going to school to the elderly watching the world pass by. It premieres January 7th.
