Nicholas Hoult Is Lockhart In HBO’s “Harry Potter”

“Superman” and “Mad Max: Fury Road” star Nicholas Hoult will play the flamboyant and arrogant Professor Gilderoy Lockhart in the second season of HBO’s “Harry Potter” TV series.

Lockhart is a central character in the second season, which will be based on the second book “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets”.

He is a famous wizard known for many heroic acts that he has documented in a number of books, though he is also incredibly vain.

He becomes the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher at Hogwarts, but it soon becomes evident he is not qualified for the job. Kenneth Branagh played the role in the 2002 film adaptation.

The series is due to debut on December 25th on HBO and HBO Max, with the first season adapting the first book “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone”.

Hoult is currently shooting the “Superman” sequel “Man of Tomorrow” in Atlanta. Filming on the second season of “Harry Potter” begins this Fall.

Jon Brown and Francesca Gardiner will co-showrun the second season.
