Following his massive success with “Get Out,” comedian turned filmmaker Jordan Peele soon returns with his second directorial effort “Us” about which little is known.
Now, thanks to recent test screening invitations, a first plot synopsis for the film has gone online and goes for a very generic sounding home invasion film – but seems to be doing so deliberately. It reads as follows:
“A mother (Lupita Nyong’o) and a father (Winston Duke) take their kids to their beach house expecting to unplug and unwind with friends (one of which is Elizabeth Moss). But as night descends, their serenity turns to tension and chaos when some shocking visitors arrive uninvited.”
The film is expected to incorporate social commentary in the way “Get Out” did, but it’s not clear what said commentary will be about as such. “Us” is scheduled to arrive in theaters on March 15th 2019.
