Turns out no-one will be ‘taken’ as such in the upcoming sequel. Star Liam Neeson spoke with UK radio and TV host Jonathan Ross and said the upcoming film has a “really, really good story”. The catch? No kidnapping.

“They called me up and I said I’ll do it… but only as long as nobody gets taken” he says, and added that there’s a big new fist on the formula. The film aims to begin production later this year. [Source: Bleeding Cool]

Hot Tub Time Machine 2
Paramount has announced a Christmas Day release this year for the upcoming sequel to the 2010 comedy “Hot Tub Time Machine”. Rob Corddry, Craig Robinson and Clark Duke reprise their roles in the follow-up, Adam Scott will play a new character taking over for the absent John Cusack. [Source: THR]

Infinitely Polar Bear
Sony Pictures Classics has finalised a deal for North American, German, UK, Scandinavian, Eastern European and Russian rights to Maya Forbes’ directorial debut “Infinitely Polar Bear”.

Mark Ruffalo and Zoe Saldana star in the story of an eccentric father who takes charge of his daughters while the mother goes to university. The film, which was executive produced by J.J. Abrams, premiered at Sundance. [Source: Screen]

BBC Films has optioned the film rights to Deborah McKinlay’s novel “That Part Was True”. The story charts the relationship between a UK divorcee and US novelist through when she writes to the author praising a scene in one of his books. They soon discover a mutual love of cookery and food. [Source: Screen]
