“Masters of the Universe” Villains TV Spot

Amazon MGM Studios

Amazon MGM Studios has premiered a new TV spot for the upcoming live-action “Masters of the Universe” feature, this one putting the focus on the villains.

Good looks at Jared Leto’s Skeletor, Alison Brie’s Evil-Lyn, Sam C. Wilson’s Trap Jaw, Hafthor Bjornsson’s Goat Man, and Kojo Attah as Tri-Klops are on offer along with confirmation that Karg from the original 1980s film is also here.

In the film, ten-year-old Adam Glenn crash-lands on his mother’s home planet, Earth, separating him from his ancestor’s Power Sword of Grayskull.

Two decades later, he (Nicholas Galitzine) takes his sword back and dons the mantle of He-Man as he battles for his home planet, Eternia, against the evil forces of Skeletor (Jared Leto).

The new trailer shows off more of the Earth scenes and jokes early on, then plays like a recut of the previous trailer but with the odd new shot.

The film also stars Idris Elba as Man at Arms, Camila Mendes as Teela, Kristen Wiig as Roboto, Morena Baccarin as the Sorceress, Charlotte Riley as Queen Marlena, James Purefoy as King Randor, Jon Xue Zhang as Ram-Man, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson as Fisto, Sasheer Zamata as Suzie and Christian Vunipola as Hussein.

“Masters of the Universe” opens in cinemas on June 5th.
