J.J. Abrams Plans A “Westworld” TV Series

HBO, Warner Bros. TV and Bad Robot have committed to produce a pilot for a TV series adaptation of Michael Crichton’s 1973 cult classic “Westworld”.

The original is set in a near future where high-tech, highly realistic adult amusement park called Delos.

The park is populated by androids that are almost indistinguishable from human beings. They soon go haywire and start killing the guests.

J.J. Abrams, Jonathan Nolan, Bryan Burk and Jerry Weintraub are all set to executive produce the project. Nolan will also co-write and direct the pilot.
