Fogleman Replacing Kasdan On “Indiana Jones 5”?

Last year came the news that David Koepp, who penned “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull,” was being replaced by Jonathan Kasdan (“Solo: A Star Wars Story”) as writer on a fifth “Indiana Jones” film.

Kasdan came up with a whole new take which necessitated a major delay, not a fuss for those involved as director Steven Spielberg has been busy with his “West Side Story” remake.

Now a new report at MakingStarWars indicates that “This Is Us creator” Dan Fogelman is the latest writer to come on board, offering a new script that’s again an entirely different premise and requires starting over from scratch.

The report indicates Kasdan’s script focused on the Walbrzych Gold Train legend – a train full of Nazi gold that went missing near the Polish city of Walbrzych. Fogelman, who has penned films like “Tangled,” “Bolt,” “Crazy, Stupid, Love,” “Last Vegas” and the widely panned “Life Itself,” penned a script that won’t have any missing Nazi gold though.

“Indiana Jones 5” is set to hit cinemas on July 9th 2021.
