NBC and the Hollywood Foreign Press Association have announced that Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will return to host the 2021 Golden Globe Awards.
The news comes just days after Ricky Gervais hosted this year’s Globes for a ‘final time’. The broadcast received both criticism and, more importantly for NBC, a major ratings downturn from last year.
The announcement was made by Poehler during a surprise appearance at the beginning of NBC’s presentation at the annual Television Critics Association winter tour. A press release quickly followed.
Fey and Poehler previously hosted the globes from 2013 to 2015 and scored both stellar reviews and some of the best ratings for the ceremony in the past two decades.
