Power bottoms everywhere just got some serious competition.
In the lead up to the release of “Avengers: Endgame,” a lot of talk swirled around one idea the previous film ‘Infinity War’ failed to capitalise on – they could’ve defeated Thanos (Josh Brolin) by having Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) shrink, crawl into Thanos’ back passage and then grown inside of him – tearing the Titan apart in the process.
Some of the actors were asked about the idea and played coy, but now “Avengers: Endgame” co-writer Christopher Markus sat down with Empire this week to discuss the theory and says the plan wouldn’t work out so well for Scott Lang:
“Thanos could take a punch from the Hulk, we’ve seen that. And it stands to reason his whole body is at least as strong as that. If Ant-Man expanded, he would be simply crushed against the immovable walls of Thanos’ mighty rectum.”
Indeed. Markus did not go further into it, no discussion of how much muscular control Thanos has of his rectal walls and whether he maintains a space kegels regime. In any case that’s put plug in the whole ‘Thanus’ theory – at least until someone comes up with another variation.
