Filming has only just begun on the “Space Jam” sequel starring LeBron James and numerous major talents from across the NBA and WNBA, but one basketball legend and original “Space Jam” star isn’t a fan of the whole endeavour – Charles Barkley.
Speaking at the 2019 NBA Awards on Monday night, Barkley was asked by Entertainment Tonight if he was interested in the upcoming live-action/animation sequel. His response was short and sharp: “Not at all. Well, listen, I don’t care. Space Jam 1 was amazing. We don’t need 2.”
That follows a quote Barkley said last year about the project which had a similar tone: “Space Jam 1 was a classic. I don’t like when people try to imitate something that was already good.”
The new “Space Jam” is set for release on July 16th 2021.
