Amazon Studios boss Jennifer Salke says that there is “no timetable” in place in regards to the streaming giant’s much talked about planned TV series based on “The Lord of the Rings” franchise.
JD Payne and Patrick McKay are developing the series, which has a multi-season commitment, with the studio saying they are “making great progress” on the show. But they’re also taking their time with it and so aren’t in a rush to meet a start of production date.
Set in Middle-earth, the TV series is set to explore new storylines that precede the events depicted in “The Fellowship of the Ring”. A handful of social media handles for the series have been revealed including one unveiling the famed map of Middle Earth from the novels.
