Magnolia Pictures’ genre arm Magnet has pre-bought North American rights to VFX artist turned director Toby Wilkins’ horror-thriller “Splinter” says The Hollywood Reporter.
The story revolves around a young couple held hostage by an ex-convict, all of whom are menaced by a parasitic monster.
Wilkins was also recently tapped to direct the third installment of the “The Grudge” franchise for Sam Raimi’s Ghost House Pictures.
