Marco Schnabel, who served as second unit director on the last “Austin Powers” film, will direct Mike Myers return to the bigscreen as the advice-dispensing Indian Guru Pitka.
Myers has been quietly practicing and honing the character of Pitka through a series of stages shows in New York City, appearing in an all-white robe and sporting a fake nose and beard. The story takes up as the eccentric guru is called in to solve a couple’s romantic troubles.
Myers penned the script with Graham Gordy and the hire of a director looks like the film is seriously moving forward for a start of shooting in August, followed by a Summer 2008 release reports Variety.
Despite lending voices to the “Shrek” films, Mike Myers last appearance on screen was 2003’s mostly CG animated “The Cat in the Hat”.
