Casey Affleck and Jessica Alba have joined the western noir thriller “The Killer Inside Me” says The Hollywood Reporter.
Based on a novel by Jim Thompson, the story follows a West Texas sheriff (Affleck) and his downward spiral from a boring small-town cop into a ruthless, sociopathic murderer. Alba plays a prostitute.
The book was previously adapted into a film in 1976 starring Stacy Keach (“Prison Break,” “Road Games”). Michael Winterbottom (“9 Songs”) is set to helm this new version from a script by Robert Weinbach and John Curran.
Weinbach, Chris Hanley, Andrew Eaton and Bradford Schlei will produce with a mid-January start date being targeted.
