The Sundance Film Festival’s most buzzed about film, Lance Hammer’s Southern drama “Ballast,” has been picked up by IFC Films reports the trades.
“Ballast” focuses on a poor Mississippi Delta family and a tragedy that befalls them. The project won a director award for Hammer and a cinematography award for Lol Crowley.
The company is expected to release the movie on First Take, its day-and-date label that releases movies theatrically, on the IFC network and on a VOD platform.
