CBS Films has picked up the film rights to Alvin Schwartz’s 1981 horror folktale anthology book “Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark” to adapt as a feature.
The film will follow a group of kids who band together to save their town from living nightmares. Several of the memorable short stories will then be incorporated into the narrative.
“Saw” sequel co-scribes Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan delivered a pitch for the project which CBS has also acquired, and will now pen the script. Sean Daniels, Jason Brown and Elizabeth Grave will produce.
