Mattel, Dolphin Entertainment and Open Road have confirmed a late 2014 release for the live-action feature film adaptation of Mattel’s popular Max Steel toy line.
Seemingly collapsing a few years ago with the departure of attached star Taylor Lautner, rumors of the proposed film being revived began a month ago. Now they’re official.
The storyline focuses on a teen named Max imbued with an energy power called TURBO (Tachyon Unlimited Radiant Bio-Optimized). He is partnered with Steel, a technological alien who protects him.
Christopher Yost (“Thor: The Dark World”) penned the script, and Stewart Hendler (“Sorority Row,” “Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn”) is attached to direct the project.
