Danny McBride (“Tropic Thunder,” “This Is The End”) has signed on to join Cameron Crowe’s next project at Sony Pictures.
Bradley Cooper will play a defense contractor supervisor assigned to oversee the launch of a weapon satellite from Hawaii.
Emma Stone will play an ambitious pilot and his Air Force liaison. The duo become convinced by mystical island forces and a talking computer to help scuttle the satellite’s orbit.
The project is said to be a revamped version of Crowe’s old script “Deep Tiki”. McBride’s role is being kept top secret.
Rachel McAdams also stars while Scott Rudin is producing.
