Disney’s long-gestating adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s acclaimed 2008 kids novel “The Graveyard Book” has risen from the grave.
Originally planned as a stop-motion animated feature by Henry Selick, the project was scrapped last Summer after Disney and Selick parted ways.
Now, the project has been reconfigured as a live-action movie, with Ron Howard in negotiations to direct.
The story follows a boy named Nobody Owens who is raised by ghosts in a cemetery after his family is murdered. When he is a teen, he is pursued again by his family’s killer – a being named ‘The Man Jack’.
Gil Netter and Ben Browning would produce. Howard will oversee the writing of a new script.
