Leonard Robinson, a Batman impersonator who became a viral sensation in 2012, has died in a car accident.
Robinson was known for costuming up at hospitals in the Baltimore-Washington area and gained national attention when police pulled him over while he was driving his Batmobile.
On Sunday night Robinson was on a western Maryland highway when his Batmobile had engine trouble. Whilst checking the engine, the car was hit by a Toyota Camry. The driver of the Camry wasn’t injured.
Robinson was a veery generous individual – spending more than $25,000 of his own money on Batman-related items every year, including toys, T-shirts and books he gave away to kids.
