Japanese actor and PrizmaX boyband lead singer Win Morisaki is set to play the key role of Daito in Steven Spielberg’s film adaptation of Ernest Cline’s best-selling novel “Ready Player One”.
The film is set in Oasis, a futuristic virtual world game in which participants hunt for eggs that contain the keys to a fortune left by the founder of the world. In the book, Daito is a Japanese ‘gunter’ egg hunter along with his partner Shoto.
This would mark the Hollywood debut for the 25-year-old lead vocalist, one in which he joines T.J. Miller, Tye Sheridan, Olivia Cooke, Simon Pegg, Ben Mendelsohn and Mark Rylance.
Filming kicks off this Summer ahead of a Spring 2018 release.
