“Silicon Valley” and “Deadpool” star T.J. Miller has joined the cast of Steven Spielberg’s “Ready Player One” at Warner Bros. and Village Roadshow.
An adaptation of the sci-fi novel by Ernest Cline, the story set in a virtual world called Oasis in which a teenager (Tye Sheridan) finds himself competing in a treasure hunt against ruthless foes after the enigmatic founder (Mark Rylance) of the game dies and offers his fortune as the grand prize.
Miller will play i-R0k, an annoying troller in the online forums of the game. Olivia Cooke, Simon Pegg and Ben Mendelsohn also star in the film which is aiming for a late June start of production. Spielberg, Donald De Line, Kristie Macosko Krieger and Dan Farah will produce.
