Glen Powell Rumoured For A ‘Major DC Role’

Paramount Pictures

“The Running Man” and “Twisters” star Glen Powell has long been a fan pick for roles in the DC Universe, some say for Booster Gold while others want him for Batman.

Now, scooper Jeff Sneider (via CBM reports that Powell “has been in talks with DC about a big role that requires a major commitment/multiple options”.

Speculation has quickly begun to swirl with Batman being the obvious go to, but Sneider says there’s potentially several possibilities and the recently announced new film based on “Hellblazer” could be one with Powell as John Constantine.

Powell said in a 2024 interview with GQ he was “always a Batman guy” and says: “I would have a wild take on Batman. It definitely would not be like a Matt Reeves tone – it’d probably be closer to Keaton.”

That would be more in-line with David Corenswet’s “Superman” and would definitely differentiate him from Robert Pattinson’s take in the Reeves films.

Powell started following both DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn and “The Brave and The Bold” director Andy Muschietti on Instagram last year. That said, he has previously stated he wasn’t particularly interested in playing a superhero.

Gunn also previously confirmed creative plans for Batman have changed since the initial announcement of the DCU slate a few years ago.
