“Matsers of the Universe” and “Red, White and Royal Blue” star Nicholas Galitzine is in final talks to play Ichabod Crane in the new take on Sleepy Hollow titled “Hollow” at Sony Pictures.
The film is an adaptation of “Pet Sematary: Bloodlines” helmer Lindsey Anderson Beer’s upcoming debut novel. Beer is set to adapt the script, produce and direct the film which stars Sydney Sweeney.
Beer’s book is a high-concept reimagining of Washington Irving’s 1820 short story “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,” reframing the story through the perspective of Katrina Van Tassel (Sweeney).
In this take, Van Tassel is the central figure in a dangerous mystery and seductive supernatural love triangle. The work is said to blend “gothic atmosphere, psychological intrigue and erotic thriller” elements.
Galitzine’s Ichabod Crane fills in one part of the love triangle. “Off Campus” star Belmont Cameli also stars in the film and is likely to play the third leg of that triangle – the town’s burly hero Brom Bones.
Alexandra Banks and Spencer Walken will executive produce.
