Pratt Confirms Star-Lord Will Return To MCU

Marvel

Chris Pratt last played Peter Quill/Star-Lord in “Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3” three years ago, with that film promising “The Legendary Star-Lord Will Return”.

Nothing has materialised since then, and neither Pratt nor any of the other Guardians are expected to appear in this year’s “Avengers: Doomsday”. That said, a ‘Secret Wars’ appearance seems a good bet.

Out promoting the second season of Amazon Prime Video’s “The Terminal List” which launched today, Pratt tells The Bingeworthy podcast that Marvel and he have already made serious progress on his character’s return to the MCU, going beyond mere talk about it:

“I have a great relationship with Kevin [Feige] and Lou [D’Esposito], and there have been both ongoing conversations about how we make good on that promise and also hard action taken to make sure that we make good on that promise. So yeah, you’ll see Star-Lord again, which is very exciting, but I’m not at liberty to say when that’s going to be, but he’s not going anywhere.”

The character was last seen having left the Guardians to reconnect with his estranged grandfather (Gregg Henry) in Missouri.

Pratt has also previously revealed he pitched Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige a “f—ing great” personal vision for Star-Lord’s return. Fan speculation has been about a “Logan”-esque standalone feature as Star-Lord deals with the ramifications of his Gamora breakup and how his hot-headedness at a crucial moment led to Thanos’ initial victory.
