Hot on the heels of her being cast as Emma Frost in Marvel’s “X-Men” film, Australian actress Samara Weaving has been revealed to have scored another gig – one she’s already filmed.
Industry insider The Beyond Reporter (via The Tech Times) claims Weaving has joined the live-action “The Legend of Zelda” movie, which wrapped shooting in New Zealand back in April.
Prior to last week, the only cast members revealed were Bo Bragason as Princess Zelda and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Link. Specifics of her role are under wraps though one report claims she’s playing the Goddess Hylia.
On Thursday came word that the late Sam Neill would appear in the film while Yvonne Strahovski would play a queen, Dichen Lachman would play bodyguard Impa, Uli Latukefu would play villain Ganondorf and Lydia Peckham has an unspecified role.
Neither Nintendo nor Sony Pictures has confirmed Weaving’s casting, and no character details have been revealed.
The Wes Ball-directed “The Legend of Zelda” is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on April 30th 2027.
