Two films at Legendary Pictures have locked in their directors.
First up, “Supergirl” director Craig Gillespie has begun talks to direct the Glen Powell-led AI-themed erotic thriller “Homewreckers” reports Deadline.
Neil Paik penned the original novella and is adapting the script for the screen. Powell will produce the project, and a search is now underway for the female lead.
The story follows a struggling married couple whose life takes a turn when the wife is offered the chance to rekindle her romance with a younger version of her husband via advanced AI tech.
Legendary has also announced a partnership with Scholastic Entertainment for a live-action feature adaptation of the children’s book series “The Magic School Bus” says THR.
“Detective Pikachu” helmer Rob Letterman will pen and direct the project while Elizabeth Banks is on board both to produce and play the role of the adventurous teacher Ms. Frizzle.
Marc Platt Productions will also produce that project. The books follow Ms. Frizzle as she takes her class on out-of-this-world field trips in her yellow school bus that transformed into whatever they needed that day, be it a spaceship or a submarine.
