DC Studios chief James Gunn has released a new 10-second ‘teaser of a trailer’ for the upcoming HBO “Lanterns” series.
Full of new footage, including several VFX shots, the short clip teases the launch of the full trailer for the show tomorrow.
The footage seems in direct answer to the complaints about the teaser trailer, which featured just one very basic VFX shot and noted lack of ‘green’.
Here we see Hal Jordan (Kyle Chandler) creating a green energy forcefield, while another scene has red lasers firing downwards.
Chris Mundy (“True Detective: Night Country”) is showrunner and executive producer and writes the series with Damon Lindelof (“Watchmen”) and comic book scribe Tom King (“Supergirl”).
Along with Chandler, the series also stars Aaron Pierre as John Stewart, Ulrich Thomsen as Sinestro, Kelly Macdonald, Garret Dillahunt, Poorna Jagannathan, Nicole Ari Parker, Jason Ritter, J. Alphonse Nicholson, and Jasmine Cephas Jones.
“Lanterns” releases on HBO from August 16th.
