Several other titles got teased during Sony’s CinemaCon presentation tonight. First, they announced that filming had wrapped on “The Legend of Zelda” movie, but nothing was shown from it.

Next, they announced that “Godzilla Minus One” director Takashi Yamazaki’s first English-language film, “Grandgear,” has set a February 21st 2028 release. A brief bit of footage from the J.J. Abrams-produced film was shown with a giant robot fighting a kaiju, but all shot with “Cloverfield”-style ground-level filming.

Justin Lin was on hand to talk about the “Helldivers” film, with pre-production kicking off in two weeks. He calls it a “satire with humanity” and says it “feels so fresh and timely”. The Jason Momoa-led movie opens in cinemas on November 10th 2027.

Both Zach Cregger’s “Resident Evil” and Aaron Sorkin’s “The Social Reckoning” showed off clips for the room only. The former saw Austin Abrams’ character walking into an abandoned house on a winter night and calling his girlfriend, explaining he’s been on the run. That cuts to creepy footage of dark houses, sewers, streets and more.

The latter gave us a look at Jeremy Strong as Facebook chief Mark Zuckerberg with the clips of him reportedly drawing rave reactions in the room as he argues with a character played by Bill Burr. Jeremy Allen White, Mikey Madison and Billy Magnussen were also seen in the clips.

A trailer was also shown for Taika Waititi’s “Klara and the Sun” which has also locked down an October 23rd release. Jenna Ortega plays a sentient android designed as a companion for children and warms to a young girl named Klara, even though the girl’s mother (Amy Adams) doesn’t approve. Natasha Lyonne also stars in the film.

The panel closed out with the new “Jumanji” film getting a title – “Jumanji: Open World”. In the real world, a couple mess with the Jumanji game console and accidentally unleash the game’s characters into the real world during Christmas time. Son enough, the avatar characters and the real-world characters team up. That film opens this Christmas.
