Emmy-winning “Succession” star Brian Cox has scored a key regular villain role in the second season of the hit Showtime series “Dexter: Resurrection”.
Cox will play the role of The New York Ripper, a serial killer who terrorised the metropolis years ago. Though no longer active, his infamy lives on as he continues to taunt the survivors of his long-ago murder spree.
The hiring follows on from the first season in which the finale sets up that Michael C. Hall’s Dexter Morgan now has access to files on a number of famed serial killers, one of them being ‘Don Frampt, New York Ripper’.
As there were other folders in that batch, we may see some more being cast in the near future.
The first season saw some high-profile regulars and guest stars, including Uma Thurman, Peter Dinklage, Neil Patrick Harris, Krysten Ritter, Eric Stonestreet, and David Dastmalchian.
Hall, Clyde Phillips, Scott Reynolds, Marcos Siega, Tony Hernandez, and Lilly Burns executive produce. Filming on the second season kicks off at Sunset Pier 94 Studios in Manhattan the week after next.
