“Marvel’s Wolverine” Game Set For September

Insomniac Games

Insomniac Games and PlayStation have confirmed a September 15th release date for “Marvel’s Wolverine” on PlayStation 5.

The date means the game, PlayStation’s biggest first-party title currently planned for 2026, will arrive in stores a full two months before the planned release of “Grand Theft Auto VI” on November 19th.

First announced five years ago, the game exploded in attention again back in September when the first gameplay trailer was revealed. Former “Spartacus” series alum Liam McIntyre takes on the role of the adamantium clawed mutant.

The official synopsis reads: “Become a living weapon. As he searches for answers about his past, Wolverine will do whatever it takes – unleashing brutal claw combat, violent rage, and relentless determination – to cut through the mystery of the man he used to be”.

Gameplay footage showed a number of X-Men characters in the game, including Mystique and Omega Red, and promises graphics and gameplay akin to “Marvel’s Spider-Man” – albeit much more bloody due to the claws.

One big change is that it will transition from a huge open-world New York to a number of smaller condensed open zones serving as different world locales.
