Ed Skrein Is Baldur In “God of War” TV Series

British actor Ed Skrein (“Rebel Moon”) has been cast as the antagonist Baldur in the live-action “God of War” TV series for Amazon Prime.

The character is the youngest son of Odin who has been denied the ability to feel pleasure and physical sensation. This fuels an insatiable anger and bloodlust.

Charismatic, unpredictable and with immense physical power, he’s seeking an opponent that can match his prowess – that can finally make him feel something.

joins other cast members such as Ryan Hurst in the lead role of Kratos, Callum Vinson as Atreus, Max Parker as Heimdall, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson as Thor, Mandy Patinkin as Odin, Alastair Duncan as Mimir, Teresa Palmer as Sif, and Danny Woodburn and Jeff Gulka as brothers Brok and Sindri.

Key roles yet to be announced include the female lead Freya and smaller roles like Tyr, Faye and Athena. The series has received a two-season order at Amazon, with pre-production now underway in Vancouver.

The series sees father and son Kratos and Atreus embark on a journey to spread the ashes of their wife and mother, Faye. Through their adventures, Kratos tries to teach his 10-year-old son to be a better god, while Atreus tries to teach his father how to be a better human.

Ronald D. Moore (“Battlestar Galactica,” “Outlander”) serves as the writer, executive producer, and showrunner.
