Bass X Machina
Brian Tyree Henry will executive produce and star in the adult animated series “Bass X Machina” at Netflix, with the title aiming to debut on the service on October 6th. Henry, Janelle Monáe, Tati Gabrielle, Cree Summer, Chaske Spencer, Currie Graham and Starletta DuPois lend their voices.

The story is set in a lawless steampunk West overrun by brutal outlaws, machines, and supernatural terrors. A father is forced to become judge, jury, and executioner – knowing every act of justice meant to protect his family may ultimately cost him the very people he’s fighting to save. Roman GianArthur and Nate Wonder will handle the music while South Korea’s Studio Mir will do the animation. [Source: Variety]

Predator: Badlands
“Predator: Badlands” debuted to 9 million views on its first five days on Hulu, overtaking the previous “Predator” franchise entry “Prey” to become Hulu’s new best premiering film. It follows on from the film pulling in $184.5 million at the worldwide box-office. [Source: The Wrap]

Face/Off 2
“Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire” director Adam Wingard has reportedly pulled out of directing the follow-up to John Woo’s 1997 “Face/Off” after being linked to the project for nearly five years.

The sequel has now reportedly been converted into an open directing assignment at Paramount Pictures with other filmmakers allowed to pitch their own take and potentially shepherd it into production. [Source: Collider

Skeletons
Sony Pictures is reportedly near to closing worldwide rights to genre feature “Skeletons” led by “Captain Marvel” star Brie Larson. J.J. Abrams is producing while JT Mollner (“Strange Darling”) is set to direct the creature feature which aims to shoot this Summer.

The story unfolds from the perspective of a young boy who slowly begins to discover that his beloved parents are hiding a disturbing secret about his mother’s true nature. Casting of the son and father roles is underway. Brian Duffield (“No One Will Save You”) wrote the screenplay based on a short story by Philip Fracassi. [Souce: Deadline]
