More Join Hanks In “Greyhound” Sequel

Apple TV

Stephen Graham has closed a deal to return opposite Tom Hanks in a sequel to the early Apple Films title WW2 submarine title “Greyhound”.

Both will return, as will Elisabeth Shue, from the 2020 original film that set viewership records for the streamer and landed an Oscar nomination for Best Sound.

Hanks is also penning the script again, as he did with the first. Aaron Schneider is returning as director and Gary Goetzman as producer.

The original film followed Hanks as a longtime Navy veteran who, as a first-time captain, is tasked with protecting a convoy of 37 ships across the treacherous waters of the Atlantic during World War II.

The new film follows Captain Krause (Hanks) and the Greyhound crew from the beaches of Normandy to the Pacific Ocean as they help turn the tide of the war. Graham returns in his role as Charlie Cole.

Filming is currently underway in Australia, with Jack Patten a new addition to the cast.
