Ruffalo: Hulk Is Not In “Avengers Doomsday”

It’s not unexpected, and now it seems certain – Hulk won’t be showing up in “Avengers: Doomsday”.

Out promoting “Crime 101,” Hulk actor Mark Ruffalo has confirmed to Empire (via ScreenRant) that he’s not in “Avengers: Doomsday” opening in December.

He does say that he’s open for more Hulk in the future: “As long as they keep finding cool things to do with Hulk. It’s given me so many gifts. You know, I probably wouldn’t be in ‘Crime 101’ if it wasn’t for ‘The Avengers'”.

Ruffalo is the latest to say he won’t be in “Avengers: Doomsday” following Elizabeth Olsen also confirming her Scarlet Witch isn’t back for it. Benedict Cumberbatch initially said early in 2025 he wouldn’t appear but later in the year walked that back, suggesting he will appear – albeit briefly.

Ruffalo is confirmed to be returning to the Bruce Banner/Hulk role for “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” alongside Tom Holland’s Peter Parker/Spider-Man and Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle/The Punisher – neither Holland or Bernthal is expected to show up in ‘Doomsday’ either.

The likes of Holland, Ruffalo and Cumberbatch are all expected to return for “Avengers: Secret Wars” in major capacities, though the casting for that film hasn’t been announced as yet.

“Crime 101,” which co-stars other Marvel alum like Chris Hemsworth (who will be in “Avengers: Doomsday”) and Halle Berry (who will not), opens February 13th.
