A new report over at Nexus Point News indicates that Scarlett Johansson is reportedly in talks to join Matt Reeves’ “The Batman: Part II” at Warner Bros. Pictures.
Details about her potential role are being closely guarded, but speculation has already begun to run rampant about various characters from a new love interest to a potential villain like Poison Ivy.
Pre-production on the sequel is moving fast in Glasgow, with more casting on the project expected to be announced shortly ahead of filming commencing early in the new year.
Others that are confirmed are Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne/Batman, alongside Colin Farrell as Oz Cobb/The Penguin, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, and Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon. Zoë Kravitz previously confirmed she won’t be returning as Selena Kyle/Catwoman.
Johansson is coming off starring in “Jurassic World: Rebirth” which proved one of the year’s biggest hits. She and co-stars Jonathan Bailey and Mahershala Ali are expected to return for a follow-up.
She also recently signed on for Mike Flanagan’s new reboot of “The Exorcist” franchise. That project would likely come after this as Flanagan is currently busy in post-production on his “Carrie” series for Amazon.
Johansson also recently released her directorial debut “Eleanor the Great” which premiered at Cannes and, with thanks to her Marvel roles and other blockbusters, recently became the highest-grossing actor of all-time.
