Kenneth Branagh Voicing A24’s “Goblin”

20th Century Studios

British acting and filmmaking legend Sir Kenneth Branagh will lend his voice the title character in “Goblin,” a raunchy buddy comedy project being dubbed “‘Ted’ meets ‘E.T'” at A24.

“Superman” and “The Santa Clarita Diet” star Skyler Gisondo is reportedly circling the lead role in the micro-budgeted $6 million film, which was penned by David Mikalson.

Branagh will provide the voice for the creature, Gisondo is in talks to play the creature’s human pal in what’s being dubbed an ‘outrageous’ comedy.

Mikalson’s script has been circulating for a while, with the plan initially to have him direct a small, proof-of-concept version in Kentucky. A24 didn’t need that, beating out others by committing to the project.

It’s expected that the film will use a practical puppet as opposed to a CG animated creation.

Gisondo is expected to lead the new “Superman” spin-off TV series set around the Daily Planet. Branagh most recently directed the third Poirot film “A Haunting in Venice” and the upcoming “The Last Disturbance of Madeline Hynde” starring Jodie Comer and Michael Sheen.
