“Battlefield 6” Draws 7M Sales In Three Days

EA

Electronic Arts revealed on Thursday that the latest entry into their long-running “Battlefield” video game franchise, “Battlefield 6,” has sold more than seven million copies in the first three days following its October 10th launch.

That’s a record for the franchise which also saw more than 172 million matches played online and accumulated over 15 million hours watched on streaming services during the three-day weekend.

EA also said the title earned the most concurrent players for “Battlefield” ever. The game earned a solid 83/100 on Metacritic, a big improvement on the 68/100 the failed “Battlefield 2042” earned in 2021 though a long way from the 88 of “Battlefield 1” and 89 of “Battlefield 3”.

Criticisms of the title were mostly restricted to the campaign which did not get well-reviewed even as the multiplayer, the core appeal of the series, was widely praised as a return to form for the franchise.

The first season of in-game content is set to release October 28th starting with Rogue Ops, which includes a new map called Blackwell Fields built for all-out warfare and an intense new 4v4 mode.

Seasonal content will be released on a consistent basis, with the next two phases of Season 1 content arriving later this year.
