Former Superman and “The Witcher” star Henry Cavill recently took to Instagram to show off how his recovery is going following his injury ahead of the filming of the “Highlander” reboot at Amazon MGM Studios.

The 42-year-old actor had been training for many months for the long-gestating project, teasing that his sword work for the film went far beyond anything he’s done to date.

Then, just under a month ago, he sustained a leg injury during pre-production fight training that was serious enough to push the shoot back months until sometime early next year.

Now, Cavill is back in the gym and in new photos shows himself mid-training, complete with a cast and boot on his foot.

He also shared a quote from the Dungeons & Dragons campaign “Planescape: Torment” which focuses on enduring.

Cavill takes on the lead role of Connor MacLeod, originally played by Christopher Lambert. Alongside Cavill, will be Dave Bautista, Russell Crowe, Jeremy Irons, Marisa Abela, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, and Max Zhang.
