HBO Max’s Casey Bloys has confirmed the release windows of several high profile series while speaking with Variety at last night’s Primtime Emmy Awards.
First up, he confirms the third season of “Euphoria” will air on the network in the Spring, but they don’t have a specific date locked in yet. Still, that appears to be sooner than expected.
Next, the two “Game of Thrones” spin-off shows are both a lock for 2026. First, the new one titled “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms” is all set for a January 2026 debut.
Then, the third season of “House of the Dragon” will premiere sometime just after May 31st 2026 (thus can’t qualify for next year’s Emmys). That suggests a June launch for that new run.
He also indicates Mike White is off writing the fourth season of “The White Lotus” and doesn’t expect that until probably early 2027.
Finally, he also explained how a show like “The Pitt” can do an annual run of 15 episodes whereas many other HBO shows take longer and deliver less: “The concept of the show being on essentially one set made the budget manageable. And you have a group of people who understand how to make 15 episodes.”
