Ridley Scott Talks His Post-“Dog Stars” Plans

Paramount Pictures

Filmmaker Ridley Scott recently gave an interview with Dazed Digital (via WoR) and offered a clearer road map of where his next projects stand at present.

First up is the already shot post-apocalyptic sci-fi film “The Dog Stars” starring Jacob Elordi, Margaret Qualley, Josh Brolin and Guy Pearce.

That film was shot back in April & May with Scott confirming he completed principal photography in just 34 days. He adds that “It’s the speed of a TV show but maybe my best movie”. Erik Messerschmidt served as his lenser on that one.

He says he’s got three films written that are “ready to go” and he hopes his biopic about the Bee Gees will be next. The other two would come after, the first being a previously teased western called “Freewalkers” which he wants to shoot next year.

The other is a project he’s mentioned for the first time – a WW1 epic based on the John Harris novel “Covenant with Death”.

He adds that “Gladiator III” is at a “conference room” stage, and that he wants to do a pirate movie with Elordi.

That’s all separate from other projects teased including a “Battle of Britain” movie he recently spoke about, the spy thriller “Queen & Country,” and “Bomb”.
