Snoop Dogg Got Rattled By “Lightyear”

Snoop Dogg recently appeared on a podcast called It’s Giving (via EW) where he revealed he’s been scared to bring his grandkids to the cinema anymore.

The reason? Pixar’s “Lightyear,” and more specifically because the film features a montage in which two mothers are seen raising their child.

The rapper recalls how he brought his grandson to watch the film and didn’t expect to have to field questions over a montage in which two mothers are briefly seen raising their child.

Seems his grandson got inquisitive, saying “Papa Snoop? How she have a baby with a woman? She’s a woman!'”. Seems, Snoop didn’t like the idea of being asked that question:

“I didn’t come in for this s—. I just came to watch the goddamn movie… It f—ed me up. I’m like, scared to go to the movies. Y’all throwing me in the middle of s— that I don’t have an answer for… It threw me for a loop. I’m like, ‘What part of the movie was this?’ These are kids. We have to show that at this age? They’re going to ask questions. I don’t have the answer.”

The actor/rapper’s comments have understandably become a big talking point today, sparking debates from various sides with particular attention being paid to Snoop’s own persona and history.

“Lightyear” depicted Pixar’s first same-sex kiss in a movie, a moment that sparked controversy within the studio after talk arose of cutting it, and staff got vocal at Disney executives for actively censoring ‘overtly gay affection’ in its feature films. The studio reinstated the kiss as a result.
