Lionsgate has premiered the trailer for James Sweeney’s new comedy/drama and seemingly part thriller “Twinless” which opens September 5th.
In the film, two young men meet in a twin support group and form an unlikely friendship. The straight Roman (Dylan O’Brien) and gay Dennis (Sweeney) both search for solace and an identity without their other halves and soon become inseparable outside the group.
But when Roman meets Dennis’ ebullient co-worker, Marcie (Aisling Franciosi), all is revealed to be not what it seems, as each man harbors secrets that could unravel everything.
The film sits at a 96% on Rotten Tomatoes from 53 reviews along with an 82/100 on Metacritic. It premiered at Sundance, where it won the Audience Award for U.S. Dramatic and a Dramatic Special Jury Award for Acting for O’Brien, who plays dual roles here with very different personalities for each.
Lauren Graham, Tasha Smith, Chris Perfetti, François Arnaud, Susan Park and Cree Cicchino co-star in the film which made more headlines at Sundance when graphic clips from the film’s sex scenes were leaked across the social media platforms – leading to the title being removed from the Sundance online platform.
