Disney has premiered the second trailer for the long-awaited sequel to 2016’s animated feature “Zootopia”.
After cracking the biggest case in Zootopia’s history, rookie cops Judy Hopps (voice of Ginnifer Goodwin) and Nick Wilde (voice of Jason Bateman) find their partnership isn’t as solid as they thought when Chief Bogo (voice of Idris Elba) orders them to join the Partners in Crisis counseling program.
But it doesn’t take long for their partnership to be put to the ultimate test when they find themselves on the twisting trail of a mystery tied to the arrival of a venomous snake named Gary De’Snake (voiced by Ke Huy Quan) who turns the mammal metropolis upside down.
Also joining the cast are Fortune Feimster as a beaver named Nibbles and Quinta Brunson as quokka therapist Dr. Fuzzby. Singer Shakira returns as the pop star Gazelle along with a whole host of animals from the first film.
The movie made over a billion dollars at the global box office and was critically very well-regarded. A short film anthology titled “Zootopia+” was releeased direct-to-Disney+ in late 2022.
“Zootopia 2” is written and directed by Jared Bush, while Byron Howard is a co-director. Yvett Merino produces the film which opens November 26th.
