Disney+ has premiered the first trailer for the second season of its fantasy series “Percy Jackson and the Olympians,” which was just unveiled at San Diego Comic Con.
In addition, the new season has been confirmed for a December 10th launch date, with a third season officially on the way.
The second season is based on Riordan’s second Percy Jackson novel “Sea of Monsters,” as Percy (Walker Scobell) and his fellow demigods go on an oceangoing quest to retrieve the Golden Fleece.
Daniel Diemer joins the cast as Percy’s cyclops half-brother, Tyson. Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries, Aryan Simhadri, Virginia Kull, and Adam Copeland all return alongside co-showrunners Dan Shotz and Jonathan E. Steinberg.
Meanwhile, the San Diego panel also saw a major announcement. Levi Chrisopulos and Olive Abercrombie have been confirmed to be cast as the young Nico and Bianca, respectively, in the third season.
That third season will be based on Rick Riordan’s third novel, “The Titan’s Curse”, with Percy setting out to rescue his friend Annabeth Chase and the Greek goddess Artemis – both of whom have been kidnapped by the Titan Atlas.
